Vice President, Donor Services, Staff


JJ Musgrove is originally from Butler, Missouri, but has been a Columbus resident off and on for the past 20 years. He served as the executive director of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra from 2005-11 and then as the Community Foundation’s first director of donor services from 2011-13. In 2013, JJ moved to Columbia, Missouri, to serve as the city’s Office of Cultural Affairs director and then as Deputy City Manager. He returned to Columbus and the Community Foundation in 2019.

JJ’s educational and professional background has centered on nonprofit administration with special emphasis in the performing arts. He has a B.A. in theatre from Graceland University, a M.A. in theatre from the University of Central Missouri, and a M.S. in business with an emphasis on organizational leadership through a servant leadership lens from Columbus State University. He is a certified organizational coach, a diversity and inclusion trainer, a graduate of Leadership Columbia (MO), and served on the Georgia and Missouri State Arts Councils.

He and his wife, Kate, are the proud parents of Sophie the wonder dog and Milo the super cat.
