Building a better nonprofit board
Arizona Daily Sun - Nonprofit organizations play an important role in every community. And the Board of Directors is critical to their success.
The size of the board is a question many nonprofits ponder. According to Board Source, www.boardsource.org, a nonprofit organization committed to helping other nonprofit organizations develop their boards, the average size is 16, the median 15 and sizes vary. In my experience 11-15 is a good workable number for many non profits. This allows opportunity to attract the different talents needed to build and sustain an excellent organization.
