How Can You Make a Difference?

Welcome to the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley -- your "resource central" for ideas, information and inspiration to help you make a difference in our community.

Our organization began with a simple idea:  charitable giving should be easy, flexible and effective.

We hold a permanent, yet flexible, collection of endowment funds contributed by people from all walks of life who want to give something back in a way that matters to them.

The principal of these funds remains intact forever, with the income generated annually invested back into the community through grants that tackle today’s needs and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.

We began operations in late 1998 and currently have assets of over $61 million.  Our operating costs are themselves endowed through a $2 million Founder’s Society Fund, enabling us to focus on strengthening the community.  Our board is a cross-section of the community’s leaders, and our staff members are local advocates who are honored to help make a difference.

In 2005 we were among the first 150 community foundations to be recognized for having organizational and financial practices that are in accordance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations.
